We have all felt it, seen it, and heard it: our world is broken.
But that is not the end of the story—and it is not even the whole story.
Every day, in more than 170 nations, Every Home is carrying Christ into the darkness. Thousands of stories are unfolding—thousands of moments where Jesus meets people exactly where they are.
Keep reading and you’ll encounter just a few of those stories, and you’ll see the truth they proclaim:
HOPE IS HERE!
MEXICO
“In a matter of minutes, the Cazones River overflowed, reaching more than seven meters high and covering streets, houses, and cars,” writes Patricia López, a local believer serving with Every Home. “People were swept away by the current, animals were trapped, and vehicles were overturned. The Genesaret Church met immediately to collect food and bring the Good News of salvation to our brothers and sisters in Veracruz.
“When we arrived, we realized that the images broadcast by the media did not compare to seeing the tragedy with our own eyes. Thousands of families had lost everything.
“We shared groceries, clothing, Bibles, and gospel literature. One man, Ramiro, told us that he had lost everything: his house, his furniture… Everything was taken by water. Everything he had built through so much effort disappeared in a matter of hours. His family survived but found themselves sleeping on the street.
“Ramiro told us that he feels grateful that, through this event, he was able to see that God loves him. When he was a child, he accompanied his grandmother to church, and today he has received a gift of hope: the Word of God.
“‘Thank God, my family and I are alive. We will be reading the Bible, and we will look for a church,’ Ramiro said.”
CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
In Dongue, near Bangui, many women live a quiet struggle. Elderly women and widows especially face poverty and isolation, many of them enduring stress and loneliness silently—invisible even to others in their community.
The Margins Team for Every Home Central African Republic saw the suffering of the invisible women of Dongue and launched an outreach to bring practical help as well as compassion, care, and hope.
Every Home helped train and equip local women from forty-two local churches to visit women individually or in small groups, offering the gift of attention to women who may not have received a visitor in years. Believers listened to their life stories, learned about their daily struggles, and noticed the needs that often go unseen. Believers shared small gifts of food and other basic necessities, tangibly showing Christ’s love. But the real gift was the moment of human connection—a reminder that these women were not forgotten.
The women expressed surprise, relief, and gratitude, and many shed quiet tears. A widow named Maman Zakie confided, “I have been living alone for years. Today I feel someone has remembered me. It’s not just the food, it’s the visit that gave me courage.”
Through the simple act of their presence, believers powerfully demonstrated Christ’s love, and local churches are prepared to continue with follow-up and discipleship.
She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me." —Genesis 16:13
NIGERIA
Bandits are known to roam the area around Mando, and ongoing conflict between religious groups has created an atmosphere of tension. Knowing they might face opposition and danger during medical outreach and home-to-home visits in Mando, our Every Home Nigeria team covered every aspect of the work in prayer.
“Before we took a single step on the field, we sought the face of God,” they write. Seventy-seven believers committed to intensive fasting and prayer, seeking wisdom for how to carry Christ into this volatile region.
Believers felt the power of these prayers when their outreach team was surrounded by a hostile crowd. As the shouting intensified, God provided an unlikely advocate. An elderly Muslim cleric stepped forward, stood between our team and the churning crowd, and said: “These people have been respectful. They have not forced their beliefs on us but have come in peace and love.”
The tension dissolved, and some of the onlookers, including several Muslims, surrendered their lives to Christ.
Not far away, in Kiyawa, local officials interrogated members of a medical outreach team. Though fear pressed in on them, our team courageously answered every question and showed that their paperwork was in order. They were granted permission to continue, and as a result, 991 people received free medical consultations and life-saving medication, and twenty-four people chose to follow Jesus!
MADAGASCAR
Each Every Home outreach starts with numbers, maps, and lots of prayer.
As local believers in Madagascar studied the map of the rough roads that lead to the remote and impoverished village of Amboasary, they prayed over the 162 homes, which don’t have electricity, and the 729 people living in this village without a church. Amboasary was longing for light!
Amboasary is difficult and costly to reach. During the rainy season, roads flood, cutting the community off from the outside world. Traditional practices of idol worship also hold power over the people of this area. But our Every Home team was not deterred, and they set out to carry the light of Jesus to every heart in this village.
Our team loaded trucks with a solar-power kit for each house and spent a day installing them on roofs and showing the love of Jesus in action as they shared a meal and many meaningful conversations.
Our team also offered skills training in soap making and other income-generating skills and planted a new Christ Group to nurture the new seeds of faith.
Light has come to Amboasary! The new solar panels improve daily life and serve as a lasting reminder that no place or person is outside the reach of Jesus’s love.
ROMANIA
Soft chirps sound from inside a cardboard box nestled in the arms of an Every Home volunteer in Romania. A woman looks on with astonishment while a little boy peeks at the clutch of day-old baby chicks. His eyes dance with wonder.
As part of Every Home’s Easter outreaches in Romania, Every Home volunteers, in partnership with many local churches, visit families in poor communities and share small, practical gifts of food, medicine, hygiene products, garden seeds, and baby chicks!
In Romania, political instability, ongoing conflicts in neighboring countries, and the rising costs of food and fuel make the future feel bleak and uncertain to many families. In recent years, many young people have left the country in search of work and a better life. In this environment, a simple gift is a symbol of hope.
During recent Easter Outreaches, Every Home Romania teams shared 500 chicks with twenty families and had the opportunity to share the Good News of the Resurrection on national television!
Whether communicated through a TV screen, a box of groceries, or the tiny peeps of a few fluffy chicks, the hope of Jesus is arriving in living rooms and at kitchen tables in Romania!
