Every Home’s history is woven with an unwavering commitment to the great commission (Matthew 28:16-20) and the great commandments (Matthew 22:37-40). The ministry’s cultural values—service, integrity, and health—are the natural outgrowth of decades of learning, adapting, and growing together. Those laboring with the ministry serve because Christ served. They operate with integrity because the calling is sacred. They prioritize health because the mission is carried by people, and people matter deeply to God.
About Us
History

1946
Origins: A Vision Ignited
In 1946, in the small town of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada, a young minister named Jack McAlister launched a radio and literature ministry called the Tract Club of the Air. It was based on a simple, yet profound conviction: everyone deserves the opportunity to encounter the love of Christ. This belief fueled early efforts to distribute gospel literature to Christian missionaries globally, supported by a network of intercessors and generous partners.
1953
The Birth of a Movement: Systematic Home-to-Home Evangelism
A pivotal moment came in 1953 when leadership from the Tract Club ministry traveled to Tokyo, Japan. There, a realization struck that reaching all people would require a systematic approach. Thus, the Every Home Crusade was born: a faith-filled commitment to share the gospel, home by home, literally reaching every home in the world. This approach wasn’t about numbers; it was about names, faces, and lives. It was about reaching families right where they lived, ensuring no one would be left behind.

1957–1980
Growing Through Global Partnerships
As the movement expanded, the ministry’s emphasis shifted from centralized, western leadership to localized ownership. Recognizing that those closest to their communities were best equipped to share Christ’s love, Every Home prioritized empowering local leaders. This emphasis on local leadership transformed Every Home into a truly global family, rich in diversity and united in purpose.
During this period, partnerships with various organizations highlighted the ministry’s commitment to unity in the body of Christ. These collaborations underscored the belief that the mission is best advanced through authentic relationships and collective effort, fostering a spirit of cooperation across the global Church.
1980–2020
Prayer at the Core
The 1980s marked a renewed focus on prayer, significantly influenced by then international president Dick Eastman. Dick’s leadership helped establish initiatives like the Change the World School of Prayer and the creation of tools like the World Prayer Map, mobilizing intercessors worldwide unto the ministry’s mission. This season cemented the conviction that carrying Christ to everyone, everywhere is not about strategy alone but dependence on God through prayer.

2020–Present
Embracing a Holistic Mission
In the new millennium and through the refining season of the COVID-19 pandemic, Every Home embraced a more holistic understanding of what it means to carry Christ. In 2022, under renewed vision and leadership of Tanner Peake, the ministry has shifted from viewing evangelism as a singular event on a doorstep to recognizing it as a lifelong relational journey marked by the loving presence of Christ.
Today, this evolution is reflected in initiatives like Oikos, which focuses on mobilizing believers to carry Christ’s love within their own communities to their friends and neighbors. Anchored in the ministry’s core belief that Christ is intended to be carried to all people in every place, Oikos represents a strategic shift toward grassroots engagement, empowering individual believers to be agents of transformation in the world.
Looking Ahead: The Journey Continues
As we approach our 80th anniversary, the story of Every Home is still being written. The newly emerging Love Your Neighbor initiative reflects the natural evolution of our mission—rooted in the same vision but expressed through fresh, contextualized approaches.
The future of Every Home isn’t found in buildings, initiatives, or even historical milestones. It’s found in the lives of ordinary people around the world who, moved by love, choose to carry Christ into their neighborhoods, cities, and nations.

Share Jesus’s love. You’ll change the world.
