This is an activity we participate in with our hands, hearts, eyes, and lives. We carry Christ because someone first carried Him to us. It is deeply rooted, uniquely personal, and authentically expressed. To carry Christ is to see people through His eyes, show love through acts of care, and speak hope through the message of the gospel. It includes the proclamation of the gospel but is never limited to delivering information—it is a holistic expression of Christ’s presence in the world.

This includes—in a most literal sense—every living person on earth: all 8 billion people alive today and the 385,000 new souls who are born every day.

This speaks to place, both geographically and spiritually. It means that no matter where people are on the planet, we will carry Christ to them. We will not be stopped by the costs of reaching distant and difficult places. It also means we will see people on every part of the spiritual journey and carry Christ to them in meaningful, relevant ways.

This means our purpose is rooted in our present time. It means this generation must take responsibility for reaching this generation. It means we include our past in our story and hold space for new expressions of our purpose in the future. Our generational mandate keeps us moving forward with intention.

To inspire is to “fill someone with the urge or ability to do or feel something.” We understand that every Christian, everywhere, is at a different point on the journey of understanding, connecting with, and responding to the desire to carry Christ. For us, inspiration is about filling those we serve with that desire. Today, we are using contextualized and meaningful methods of inspiring followers of Christ and congregations to carry Christ to their worlds.

We believe that all 2.4 billion Christians alive today have the capacity to encounter Christ and to share his love with their worlds, even if our ministry does not explicitly interact with them. Jesus has empowered the Church to know him and take his name to the world. Our ministry exists to remind the Church of this and to give believers everywhere the confidence to believe they can participate with Christ in this way. Our ministry empowers the Church through resources, training, vision, and meaningful networks.

Today, there are 2.4 billion Christians on the planet, 46,400 unique denominations, and 4.2 million congregations of Christians globally. This diverse group of people—of numerous theological persuasions, faith expressions, and levels of spiritual maturity—is central to our mission as an organization. We minister to them as an end in itself. Every follower of Christ needs to encounter the love of Christ in an ongoing and personal way. They are also a primary means of impacting the world around them.

This speaks to the fact that every follower of Christ and every Christian community has been called to their own world—the people and communities that surround them. Every person’s “world” is relative to their experience, community, and generation. Every Home is always working through people God has chosen and planted in particular places. We believe that when Christians reach their worlds, our global purpose will be fulfilled in a meaningful way.
