From the President’s Desk
Each year, our global Every Home fellowship discerns a word to be an anchor point throughout the year. This word gives us spiritual and practical focus, uniting our hearts around a theme the Lord invites us to explore. This year, our word for the year is “carry.”
The word “carry” comes from our vision: “to carry Christ to everyone, everywhere, in every generation.” Carry is an active word. It’s a verb that calls us to hold what is ours, move with it into our worlds, and offer it with open hands to others.
We carry what someone else first carried to us: a hope that, at some point, transformed our own stories. We carry good news: the grace and redemption found in Jesus. We carry love for our neighbors, the greatest commandment. We carry—simply put—Christ.
We carry Christ in diverse ways, each unique to our own testimonies, callings, and contexts. We carry Christ by seeing people through his eyes, by letting his love lead us into dignity and respect for every person on the planet. We carry Christ by showing his message in the actions of our lives, demonstrating his abundant grace in the way we serve the people who fill our lives. We carry Christ by speaking about him, offering words of life, peace, and hope wherever we find the opportunity.
Around the world, Every Home teams will spend this year carrying Christ in over 170 nations. They will partner with local churches to knock on doors, share the gospel, serve communities, feed the hungry, embrace the outcast, care for the sick, and visit the prisoner. They will do whatever it takes to carry Christ to everyone in their nations. For them, to carry is a holistic calling to which they give their lives.
