The Oikos Initiative
Every person counts.
Oikos is an initiative launched across the ministry of Every Home for Christ in 2019—our purpose, at scale, with a generational timeframe—to carry Christ to everyone, everywhere, by 2038.
Since our founding in 1946, Every Home has equipped believers to carry Christ to their world. Our conviction that the love of Jesus is intended for every human heart and our commitment to strive for no less than the whole world have fueled this work through challenges and the ever-changing landscape of our world. As new technologies and strategies have emerged, Every Home has led in innovation.
The launch of the Oikos Initiative in 2019 both reinforced our core vision and objectives and expanded our practical strategy and missional imagination. Oikos framed, in practical terms, how Every Home could reach the whole world and accurately measure that work.
What makes Oikos unique?
Broad vision for outreach
Reaching diverse cultures and contexts requires the development of diverse outreach methods, strategies, and tools. Oikos empowered local believers working with Every Home to develop and embrace new ministry models, including those made possible by advancements in technology and media.
Mapping and Analytics
With an emphasis on data, Oikos maps populations and rigorously tracks ministry activity and impact, providing a clearer picture of our goals and progress than ever before.
Empowering Local Believers
Upon its launch, the Oikos Initiative was met with whole-hearted support from our global network. In the years since, it has served as a rallying point for believers worldwide, fueling focus, innovation, and efficiency.
Oikos Is on Pace!
(Actually, we’re slightly ahead of projections.)
Every Home launched the Oikos Initiative in 2019, months before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted nearly every aspect of life worldwide. Our global network responded, adapting to the uncertain and challenging circumstances with creativity and resilience.
In 2022, as ministry activity statistics began to show recovery, the world’s population surpassed 8 billion, far ahead of predictions. To keep pace with population growth, we projected that we would need to reach over 451 million people each year to achieve Oikos within its timeline.
6-Year Goal: 2.711 billion potential people reached
6-Year Total: 2.820 billion potential people reached

It is the total number of people we estimate have encountered Jesus through the many varied facets of Every Home’s work, including visits to homes, public events, special outreaches to marginalized communities, practical aid and relief, and many other strategies. It’s one of the key ways we track our progress toward the goals of the Oikos Initiative. We calculate Potential People Reached based on the total results of the many strategies used around the world and a host of related metrics such as average household size in each nation, gospel materials shared, and event attendance.

From the President / CEO
This report is filled with exciting numbers. From the number of people reached to the number of positive responses, these statistics tell a story: God is on the move in our world today.
We launched the Oikos Initiative in 2019 with the audacious goal of reaching everyone, everywhere, in this generation. This time-bound strategy was intended to catalyze and accelerate ministry with a high emphasis on tracking and accountability. It was meant to keep us focused on the urgency of our task.
As you’ll see, it’s working. Through Oikos, we’re on track to keep ministry paced with world population growth to ensure everyone on earth has some encounter with Jesus by 2038.
But what’s even more exciting to me is an outcome we didn’t foresee when we launched Oikos: the emergence of a movement. Since the start of Oikos, the number of volunteers participating in this vision to carry Christ to everyone, everywhere, in every generation has increased 643 percent. On average, every month, 635,200 volunteers are giving their time to carry Christ to their world.
This is the story of God on the move through his people: a global, grassroots campaign multiplying before our eyes. It’s a movement driven by compassion, sustained by love, and carried out in the real world. It’s a groundswell of volunteers who are going out from their churches and into their worlds to look people in the eye and point them toward abundant life. They are carrying hope in word and deed, bringing healing everywhere they go.
It’s a movement that makes a difference. As hope takes root, we see lives changed. We see families healed. We see communities transformed. It’s a movement that could change the whole world, and I believe it’s just getting started.
May you be inspired by compassion and filled with hope as you see the scale of this movement. It will truly take all of us.
For everyone, everywhere, in every generation,

“Our Lives Have Completely Changed”
Location: Haiti
My name is Nicole Derisma. In the past, I never wanted to hear anyone talk to me about the gospel. Every time someone approached me on this subject, I would make fun of them. But one day, [someone] in an evangelization group gave me a brochure entitled, “Where Will You Spend Your Eternity?” The moment I started reading the brochure, I felt something in my heart. Shortly after, I felt a push to accept Jesus as my personal Savior. Thus, I gave my life to Jesus. Before, my husband and I practiced magic. I led my husband to accept Jesus as his personal Savior also. Now, we are not the same! Our lives have completely changed. We thank God for putting this group in our path. May God bless you!

New Beginnings in the Wake of War and Fear
Location: Ukraine
When [people] experience physical, emotional, and psychological exhaustion, it is crucial to have a place of restoration. We believe that such a place can be the women’s club meetings, which began April 14 in Rivne, at the Tabernacle of Awakening church. Here, women socialize, rejuvenate, and engage in useful initiatives every second Sunday.
We recently met Svetlana. She asked about doctors and health, which led to a conversation about her life. I had the opportunity to witness, pray, and invite her to the women’s club in Rivne. She shared that at age forty-six, she gave birth to her first child! A true miracle from God! However, she also has various health issues.
I offered to pray for her. She eagerly agreed, was moved, and said she would pray for me in the evening. That night, Svetlana joined the women’s community on Telegram [a messaging platform]. I believe this is just the beginning. I thank God for these serendipitous meetings and opportunities to witness to people, pray for them, and share the Good News.

Shoes Show Jesus’s Love
Location: Mozambique
I am Elisabete Santos, a mother of three from the small village of Chinamacondo, Mozambique. I want to share with you the incredible blessing my family and I received from Every Home for Christ Mozambique. It was a day that will forever be etched in my memory, when my children received their very first pairs of shoes.
Chinamacondo is a very secluded village, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Life here is simple, but often very challenging. My husband works as a fisherman, and while he does his best to provide for our family, there are times when we struggle to make ends meet. When we heard that Every Home for Christ Mozambique would be visiting our village to distribute shoes to those in need, we were filled with hope and anticipation.
My heart swelled with gratitude as I watched my children receive their very own pairs of shoes. For the first time in their young lives, they had proper footwear to protect their feet and keep them safe. It was a simple gift, but one that meant the world to us. The distribution of shoes by Every Home for Christ Mozambique was not just a practical blessing for our family, but it was also a powerful demonstration of God’s love for the people of Chinamacondo. It showed us that we are not forgotten, that we are seen and valued by a God who cares deeply for our well-being. The volunteers from Every Home took the time to talk to us, share gospel literature, pray with us, and share the message of hope and salvation. It left a lasting impact on our entire community. The love and generosity displayed by Every Home has inspired me to pay it forward and to be a blessing to others in my village. I have joined a local outreach program that aims to provide support and assistance to families in need. Thank you, Every Home for Christ Mozambique, for showing us the love of God in such a tangible and meaningful way.
