Springtime is rich with invitations to hope. New life fills the earth and air around us, pointing our hearts to the abundance of a God who is always making all things new. Each morning is like a gentle nudge to remember the beautiful work of Christ’s redemption in our world.
That same redemptive work is evident in the stories of Every Home ministries in Africa today. Across diverse nations with myriad cultures, contexts, languages, and needs, Every Home Africa teams are carrying Christ in simple, inspired ways that bring new life every day. They are using every resource and strategy at their disposal, from placing shoes on the feet of people facing poverty to spearheading microenterprise among underserved women. They are empowering people with capacity and hope. They are feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, offering medical care, and ministering the good news of the gospel in holistic ways.
This month, I am inspired to follow their lead. We, too, can be stewards of new life in our worlds. We can see the needs of our neighbors, across the street or around the world, and respond with compassion. We can let the love of Christ lead us to action that makes a meaningful difference. We can speak hope into our communities.
